Our Early Bird / pre-Theatre menu is now available for reservations arriving between 6pm and 6:45pm and diners on the early bird menu can stay until 8pm.

This is perfect for pre-concert dining before visiting the National Concert Hall which has a full scheduled this autumn including the Dublin Culture Night

Dax is renowned in Dublin for its high standards of customer care and exquisite cuisine; so it is not surprising to find it’s one of Dublin’s favourite destinations for business professionals looking for group festive dining or a place to host their Christmas party.  The restaurant regularly hosts corporate groups and delegations for lunch and dinner.

We have various spaces within the restaurant that can cater for different size groups in semi-private dining.

High Summer Lunch Dublin City @DaxRestaurant

Our new season summer lunch menu is now published on line

Chef Tomasz Morawski has a put together a distinctly summery selection of dishes. The set menu includes a soup of courgette and rosemary, a salad of blue cheese and pickled beetroot, roasted quail, sea trout, gambas and mussels and a summer French favourite; cured and marinated Irish Mackerel.

The A la Carte has dishes of seared Irish Scallops, Yellow Fin Tuna, Rack of Irish Lamb and seared Halibut.

Summer Lunch is available every Tuesday to Friday from 12:30pm. Set Lunch is only €24.50 for two courses and €29.50 for three courses.

Dax embraces the summer season with gusto as we unveil our new season lunch and a la carte dinner menus.

A la Carte starters of Seared Sea Bream, Yellow Fin Tuna and Sautéed Foie Gras begin a journey of summer flavours including samphire, rhubarb and strawberries, garlic and nettle. Our a la carte main courses include rack of Irish lamb, Magret of Duck, Cod and Scallops and our summer desserts are the perfect end to a fine summer meal in Dublin city.

Dax lunch has to be the best value in the city at only 24.50 for two courses and 29.50 for three course served Tuesday to Friday and A la Carte lunch is always available to. A la carte dinner is served every evening from 5pm.

This December, when you buy a gift voucher from Dax Restaurant on line, we will donate 10% of the value of the voucher to the Dublin Simon Community to help them in their fight against homelessness in the city.

Gift buying is a struggle some years and in this hectic time of excess the blighted are often forgotten in the rush as we spend our hard earned cash. So this year Olivier will donate 10% of all purchases of gift vouchers this December to the Dublin Simon Community.

Dax will be open for lunch as usual in December on a Tuesday to Friday; however, we will also be open for Christmas lunches on Mondays and Saturdays too.

Tom Doorley scores Dax the “Full Monty”

Tom Doorley recently visited Dax for Lunch and was very impressed! His review was published in the Irish Daily Mail on the 17th October. Dublin Simon Fun Run!

Olivier is taking Dax Restaurant up to Phoenix Park this Saturday 3rd October to join in with the Dublin Simon Fun Run!

The long established Simon Fun Run is celebrating its 32nd year! Simon’s 5 Mile professional road race, in association with Athletics Association Ireland, will take place in the beautiful surroundings of the Phoenix Park in Dublin on October 3rd with the race start at 10am.

Olivier will be putting a pop-up version of Dax Restaurant in the Simon Tasting Tent, part of the Simon Village, where he’ll be serving several gourmet dishes to visitors and competitors.

The Simon Village will host a number of Family Fun activities including Hamelys kids activities and nail bar, 98Fm Big Red and Giant Games, Deutsche Bank Kids Races and Novelty Races and the Lucan Gospel Choir!

On Friday 13th February 2015, the eve of the Ireland v France Six Nations show-down, Dax Restaurant is delighted to welcome the wine makers and their wines from Domains Monteillet & Ogier d’Ampuis at a sumptuous five course dinner from Head Chef Conor O’Dowd.

These two houses represent generations of wine production expertise in some of the world’s most admired and sought for labels from Côte Rotie, Condrieu and St. Joseph.

On the eve of the Six Nations Ireland verses France match we invite you to join us and our guests at a sumptuous five course wine dinner including matched wines from these two premier houses; the following wines will be shown:

  • Viognier de Rosine 2012, IGP des Collines Rhodaniennes, Domaine M&S Ogier d’Ampuis

Five Course Menu and Live Entertainment

The night will be accompanied with live entertainment from the Wayfarers and their traditional Irish music.

Stéphane Montez has been in charge of his family’s 24 hectare estate since 1997 and has now matured into one of France’s finest wine producers. Having started with a constant sense of experiment, particularly with the use of wood, he has now settled down and has reached a stage where his understanding of his vineyards and how best to transform the grapes that come from them into wine, is at an incomparable level. He makes wines across three appellations; Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and St. Joseph and whilst his wines have always had a delicious fruit character, today they also show a deep, underlying core of minerality allied to tremendous finesse.



Whereas many wine producers take a lifetime to make wines of note, at thirty seven years of age Stéphane Ogier is already a shining star of the Northern Rhône Valley. Stéphane showed great promise from an early age, receiving 100 points from Robert Parker for his Côte-Rôtie ‘Belle Helene’ 1999 when he was only twenty two but it is recent years that his talent has begun to mature into a confident, consistent brilliance. Stéphane makes across the three appellations of Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and St. Joseph as well as exploring and developing hitherto unfashionable and long ignored areas of vin de pays in the Northern Rhône. After recent purchases the domaine’s vineyard holdings now cover just over 12 hectares and his wines have become some of the most sought after in the world today.
