Olivier Meisonnave continued his ongoing support for the Dublin Simon Community in March with the handover of a cheque for €8,100 to Sam McGuinness, CEO of Dublin Simon Community. During November and December Olivier committed to donate 20% of the value of every Dax Restaurant gift voucher sold during those months to the homeless charity. Olivier has been supporting Dublin Simon since Christmas 2013 and has so far donated over €25,000 to the homeless charity.

Olivier was converted to the cause after seeing two documentaries on TV which graphically depicted the plight and extent of the homeless crisis in Ireland. He made up his mind then to do whatever he could to assist in defeating the now widely recognised national crisis of homelessness.

Sam McGuinness on behalf of the Dublin Simon Community said: “As we continue to see increasing numbers of people, families and children coming to our doors for help, we are extremely grateful to Olivier for his support. This generosity will mean the Simon Community can continue to provide vital services.”

Olivier and Dax Restaurant’s work with Simon doesn’t stop with the donations. Several times a year Olivier has brought staff from Dax to run barbecues for residents at Dublin Simon housing services sites and at the Phoenix Park “Simon Fun Run” event. Olivier hopes his efforts will inspire others to join in to alleviate this national crisis.
