Tom Doorley scores Dax the “Full Monty”

Tom Doorley recently visited Dax for Lunch and was very impressed! His review was published in the Irish Daily Mail on the 17th October. Olivier is delighted to welcome Francesco Pacenti, the owner of Canalicchio di Sopra to Dax Restaurant to show case his wonderful wines including his Brunello di Montalcino 2010 awarded 98/100 by Robert Parker.

CANALICCHIO DI SOPRA - MONTALCINO - ITALYThe vineyard was founded in 1962 by Primo Pacenti. Situated in the rolling hills of Montalcino, Tuscany; Francesco and his brother took over their father’s vineyard putting all their heart and passion in to the wines to show to the world why their Brunello is one the top 5 wines in Italy and Europe.

Robert Parker scored their 2010 Brunello 98/100 and the wine is showing an unbelievable elegance, style and quality. The high scores continue and now Dublin has the opportunity to enjoy these amazingly elegant wines matched with superb cuisine at our wine dinner on the 12th November.

This is a pre-paid ticket only event; tickets are 140 euros per person and there are only 56 tickets available. Seating will be on shared tables unless you purchase the entire table, there are 2 round tables for 10 guests, 3 round tables for 8 guests and 12 guests at the back on a long table.

The Evening…

…will begin with a prosecco and canapé reception and a welcome to Dax restaurant for Francisco Pacenti. There will be a short talk about the vineyard and the wines and food for the evening.

Following the reception, a five course dinner will be served matched with three Canalicchio di Sopra wines; Rosso di Montalcino 2012, Brunello di Montalcino 2010 (98/100 Robert Parker) and Brunello Di Montalcino 2006 (97/100 Robert Parker) and finished with Verdicchio “Le Oche” 2012 from Fattoria San Lorenzo.
